Phase 10

Natalie and Josh have hooked us all on Phase 10!! In January when I came to Honduras to visit, Kara, Luis, Marvin, and I enjoyed some intense rounds of Phase 10 together. Natalie and Josh had given Phase 10 to Kara and Luis as a gift, and neither Luis nor Marvin had ever played before. I don't think we ever imagined what a big hit it would be!
Before moving back to Honduras, Marvin asked me on various occasions to please buy and bring down Phase 10 for us to have in our house. I actually forgot to buy it, but wrote Natalie and asked her if she would bring it down when she came for our wedding and surprised Marvin and gave it to him for his birthday!!!
On Yessica, my sister-in-law's birthday, we played our first round with my in-laws. We were up 'till 11 playing Phase 10!! Then, this weekend, all of Marvin's family-minus his brother-went out of town, and we ended up having his brother over to hang out and eat with us all weekend. We ended up playing Phase 10 three nights in a row!! I think we kept him busy so he wouldn't be too depressed without his wife and son! Now my brother-in-law is out of town, and my two sister-in-laws made it back to LaCeiba, and we have enjoyed having them over three nights in a row so far to play Phase 10! They bring the chips and coke, and we all sit around our round table and laugh and play! It is very funny because we definitely play Honduran style, and I am changing my ways-ha. We all help each other, and everyone is very happy if we all go to the next phase together! But there is still a enough competition to make the game fun, and we have fun laughing at each other and enjoying each other. Thank-you Natalie and Josh for hooking us on Phase 10!
One of Marvin's and my big prayer requests for this year has been that the Lord will use us to encourage his family, and we feel blessed to live close to them and spend time with them.

  2. You gave us a lot of credit! But I'm glad you're having so much fun. The Honduran style cracks me up. :-) I can imagine it perfectly.
