Thanking God for His divine protection...

Yesterday we had more than one accident. First I was baking. The food needed to come out, and as I was in a hurry, instead of hunting down the hot-pads, I grabbed a little kitchen towel hanging on my fridge door and pulled the hot pan out of the oven...the towel did not protect my fingers! I literally felt them burning as I pulled the pan out, but didn't want to drop the pan and make a mess so I didn't let go until I had placed it safely on top of the oven. Needless to say, I have a huge blister on the tip of my right ring finger!
Then I was sitting on the arm of our big recliner chair, and Marvin, my dear husband, came along and decided to sit in the chair and sat a little too far back, and we fell over!! It would have been a lot funnier if the wall hadn't been directly behind us and we hadn't fallen with our heads bent upwards and stuck--we couldn't move! And I had a metal clip in my hair that dug viciously into the back of my head. Ha-I thought that after that hit to my head, I wouldn't be normal when I stood up. Needless to say, besides a big sore spot on the back of my head, we are both fine!!! And after we felt better, we did get a good laugh over the situation! (-;
To top off our day of accidents, I was baking an apple crisp. We have a gas stove, and I thought that I had turned the oven on, but apparently I hadn't actually lighted it properly. When I realized that the gas was turned on, but the oven was not, I turned it off and should have waited a little longer, but, really the gas had only been turned on a couple of minutes and as, again, I was in a hurry, I went ahead and turned on the oven again and tried to light it again and had a pretty scary explosion!! Marvin and I, and the Hoffs and Miguel, who were visiting us, all felt the pressure of the explosion in our faces. And my in-laws, who live at the other end of the street, felt the explosion too and started to call wondering if we were ok. We were a little shaken up, especially Marvin, but we are fine. This is the first time he has had a gas stove, but I grew up with gas stoves, so I assured him it was my fault, and I learned that I needed to be a lot more careful.
We ended the day safe and sound, but thankful for God's protection, and aware once more of how fragile and mortal we are as humans. I felt challenged as a lay in bed last night wondering how ready I am at a moment's notice if God were to take me or take my husband. How would I have lived my last moments here on earth and what would be my husband's last memories of me? Would God be proud?
