As the time of the year draws near when women usually start to think of doing some spring cleaning in their homes, in my case, although I`m sure my home could use some deep cleaning as well, I am asking the Lord to do some cleaning out in my heart. It seems that I look away for a while, and when I return to re-examine my heart, I am disappointed to realize that once again I have allowed some dirt to build up, and once again, I need my dear Savior to do some scrubbing in my inner being. The little member of my body that has been signaling some need for change recently is my tongue. I am so thankful to be doing a Priscilla Shire Bible Study with my English-speaking group here in La Ceiba that has been addressing this area in my life. Please keep me in your prayers as I ask the Lord to deal with the critical, impatient, and unloving attitudes that have crept into my heart and displayed themselves in my words. My prayer is that He will transform my mouth into His instrument of grace and blessing to those around me and that I will be His tool to edify and build up the precious people He has put in my life.
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit." Proverbs 18:21
Amen! I think we all could use a little cleaning out of our hearts when it comes to the tongue. But you're in the right place dear, as you humbly recognize your need for Jesus to continue His transformation in your life! Love you!!!
