Leaving Egypt...

24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel. Hebrews 11:24-28

Sometimes we have to leave Egypts and Pharaohs to follow the Lord. This is something that Marvin and I have been learning recently. The reason that Christians can persevere is because we see Him who is invisible and have faith that He is who He says He is, and He is worthy to be glorified and exalted through our lives. The cost of following Christ is taking up our cross, yet the reward is so much greater.

I pray that the Lord would use us and take us wherever He wants, leave Egypt, leave Pharaoh, and that we could truly consider disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of this world.

  2. I agree with Kara! It is encouraging that the Lord fights our battles for us, too. We just have to follow Him and trust Him.
