The Battle for Integrity

Marvin has been reading through the Old Testament, and today was in Joshua 24. Him and I were both struck by verse 14 because the Lord has really been speaking to us about integrity recently---He has been speaking to us not only through the series that Pastor Donny is giving on integrity at church, but also through the circumstances we have been facing and going through this month. We have really been challenged in our faith and in our integrity as Christians as we have faced dark situations around us. It is so much easier to be passive, to not make a stand, to not get involved, to not say a thing, to not risk being put down or persecuted, but what have we truly been called to do as Christians? How can we truly be light if we are not willing to combat and challenge the darkness around us? How can we be TRUTH, if we chose to ignore and support the lies and evil around us by our silence and passiveness?

We pray that the Lord would truly grow us in this and give us HIS wisdom as we seek to be His instruments and do His will even in a perverse generation. We pray that He would teach us to act in His Spirit and not according to our flesh and that we would truly walk and serve Him in integrity, truth, and fear of the Lord. We struggle so much and feel our inadequacy as finite humans, but our desire is to serve the Lord and serve Him alone.

You serve who you want to serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!
