Weekend with Mom

Marvin and I were very blessed to spend this last weekend with my mom in Siguatepeque!! She came and left in a whirlwind, but we enjoyed an awesome weekend of quality time with her. I really enjoyed playing violin with her and the band at the Siguatepeque conference after four months of not having my violin!! Marvin and I also really enjoyed listening to the speaker at the conference. I came away encouraged in my calling as a believer to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything God has commanded me!! The speaker made the point that we are not only called to make disciples and baptize them, but teach them everything God has commanded us! This takes time! He made the point that we are not finished with our work until those we are teaching are ready to be sent out and obey the great commission themselves! It's a cycle of teaching and sending out, teaching and sending out.
I am really thankful my mom got to stay with us instead of staying at the conference center. We had her to ourselves a big chunk of the weekend! Some of the things we did with her were: share meals with her, late-night haircut (of-course!!), take her with us to our morning fresh market shopping, walk through some beautiful gardens with her, visit Marvin's aunt with her and drink coffee (even though she is not a coffee-drinker-you are a trooper mom!!), visit Marvin's cousin and take her to see the bus that Evangel is donating to a local pastor here in Honduras, go out to eat with her, travel with her, go souvenir shopping with her and more!
Marvin and I also were blessed and excited to take my mom to see the clay workshop in Siguatepeque. She got to see the thousands upon thousands of pottery and different items made of clay and the workshop where they make it.
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful mother who has not only been a wonderful spiritual example to me, but a wonderful friend. Her trip was a whirlwind, but it was a wonderful time, and we are thankful...
