Pastor Leonidas

Marvin and I had the privilege of visiting one of my dad's good friends, Pastor Leonidas, and his family yesterday morning, attending and sharing at their morning church service and enjoying a delicious Honduran meal with them. Pastor Leonidas was one of the few pastors who graduated from the pastor's training course that my dad and Mr. Pad had the privilege of starting and teaching for many years.
About 60 people attend this church, and Pastor Leonidas and another church leader fill up the backs of their trucks with people, taking about 3 truckloads every week. We really enjoyed spending the morning with this congregation and worshiping with them. We loved the music--they really sing with all of their hearts. We also really enjoyed Pastor Leonidas's message. Yesterday was a special day at the church because they were celebrating the Dia del Niño. They celebrated with a piñata and cake. (-;
Pastor Leonidas just recently met Marvin for the first time. They had been talking over the phone for many weeks before they actually met. We got a good laugh when Pastor Leonidas stopped by our house a couple weeks ago because he was shocked at how tall and big Marvin is! He had been expecting a short, fat guy!
We felt very blessed to spend the day with Pastor Leonidas and his family. His daughter prepared us a feast for lunch, and Pastor Leonidas sent us home with avocados, yucca, and leeches! Yes, we are blessed...
